Qualifications

• Seven years of full-time experience as electrician/designer/inspector in electrical installations with 18 months in supervisory capacity
• Five years of experience with 18 months in supervisory capacity plus relevant credits or training as described
• Completion of an electrical apprenticeship with extended experience or equivalent combinations
• A professional engineer or architect license with supervisory experience
• Equivalent education/experience with 2+ years of supervisory experience

Responsibilities

• Manage a unit for efficient inspection work and attain target goals
• Direct and coordinate unit work and supervise subordinates
• Inform staff of issues requiring senior intervention
• Meet regularly with inspectors to discuss duties and policies
• Deploy personnel for maximum efficiency and service to the public
• Explain and enforce applicable laws and rules
• Testify as needed at ECB, depositions, and court
• Maintain records and prepare reports
• Issue stop work orders when necessary
• Represent the Department in meetings with public/private entities
• Plan and conduct surveys and investigations
• Identify unsafe building conditions and refer for engineering review
• May operate a vehicle in performance of duties
