Job summary

Amazon Data Services, Inc. in Austin, TX is seeking an Engineering Manager to lead the Electrical Products and Services team in developing and deploying next-generation electrical infrastructure for AWS data centers.

You will oversee design, development, and validation of electrical solutions, collaborating with AWS builders and third-party manufacturers. The role requires strong leadership, deep electrical engineering expertise, and the ability to guide projects across global sites.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering or related field.
• 7+ years in data center design and electrical product development.
• 5+ years managing teams of 40+ associates.
• Master's degree or Ph.D. in Electrical Engineering (preferred).
• Deep understanding of electrical infrastructure in data centers (preferred).

Responsibilities

• Lead innovative, high-performance teams of technical associates under challenging timelines.
• Demonstrate strong engineering judgment and ability to provide recommendations despite uncertainty.
• Apply data-driven and detail-oriented approaches to problem-solving.
• Utilize extensive experience and knowledge in electrical engineering and product development.
• Collaborate with global electrical equipment suppliers and manufacturers on new technology development and initiatives.
• Build trust and develop relationships with different stakeholders (e.g., reliability, operations, design, compliance).
• Manage concurrent projects across multiple geographic zones.
• Communicate complex systems in clear and concise language.
• Support operations including failure mode and root cause analysis, maintenance and troubleshooting support, and operating procedure review for electrical issues.
• Incorporate customer feedback to improve product reliability and availability.
• Contribute to our global knowledge base and drive continuous improvement at scale.
