Job summary

NTN Bearing Corporation in Elgin, IL seeks an Electrical (IACS) Technician for 2nd and 3rd shifts to troubleshoot PLC-based controls on CNC turning, drilling, and grinding machines. You will monitor, modify, and write PLC programs, and plan wiring layouts for electrical panels on industrial machinery.

The Starting Wage is $28.00 per hour with $2.50 second-shift and $3.00 third-shift differentials; actual base pay depends on experience and location.

Qualifications

• Associate degree or equivalent experience with high school diploma or GED.
• Reading and designing electrical schematic drawings.
• Knowledge of PLC I/O modules and ladder logic.
• Understanding AC to DC power supply.
• Knowledge of VFDs and servo control functions.
• Ability to read safety rules and maintenance docs.
• Mathematical skills and ability to compute ratios.
• Electronic motor knowledge (3-phase, DC, AC motors).
• Knowledge of Electronic Device Application Software.

Responsibilities

• Troubleshoot automated production machinery, identify root causes and repair.
• Diagnose and replace faulty electrical and electronic components.
• Plan wiring layout and install wiring, conduit, and electrical apparatus.
• Test motor insulation and maintain lighting systems.
• Safely connect power and monitor equipment.
