Brightpath Associates LLC in Decatur, AL is seeking a Site Electrical Engineer to support the Maintenance Department, focusing on safe and efficient operation of plant electrical systems and equipment.

The role includes maintaining single-line diagrams, NFPA 70E compliance, and leading preventive/predictive maintenance planning, while collaborating with electricians, mechanics, and I&E staff to drive reliability and continuous improvement.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering from an accredited university or college.
  • Minimum 2 years’ experience with PLCs, HMIs, AC/DC drives and motors, low and medium power distribution, substations, and power distribution equipment (transformers, circuit breakers, cables, etc.).
  • Minimum 2 years of experience in Facility Engineering
  • Desired Characteristics: RCFA and FMEA, Thermography, and Motor Circuit Analysis.
  • Prior experience in Chemical Manufacturing with Process Safety Management (PSM) preferred.
  • Must be in current position minimum of 6 months.
  • Strong organizational skills.
  • Strong interpersonal and leadership skills.
  • Strong project and team leadership.
  • Technical acumen – aptitude to understand complex manufacturing and design requirements, as well as the operational processes associated with chemical plants & equipment.

Responsibilities

  • Prompt, regular, and dependable attendance is an essential function of this job.
  • Serve as the Site Electrical Engineer working for the Maintenance Department.
  • Maintain Update plant electrical single line diagrams and associated Arc Flash Analysis / Labeling.
  • Serve as an Authority having Jurisdiction (AHJ) for NPFA 70E compliance.
  • Specify appropriate Preventive Maintenance (PM's) / Predictive Maintenance (PdM's).
  • Knowledge of PLCs, Instruments, DCS systems, UPS Systems, and low voltage (<600 VAC) plant systems.
  • Knowledge of DC voltage systems for PLCs, Instruments, DCS systems, UPS systems and other plant systems.
  • Knowledge of PLCs, Instruments, DCS systems, UPS Systems, and low voltage (<600 VAC) plant systems.
  • Knowledge of DC voltage systems for PLCs, Instruments, DCS systems, UPS systems and other plant systems.
  • Provide Maintenance Functional input to new Process Equipment Purchase Specifications to ensure adequacy.
  • Provide directions to Electricians, Mechanics, and other staff disciplines to support projects and maintenance efforts.
  • Add ability to collaborate with I&E Technicians and Management alike.
  • As needed, willing to train co-workers in role areas of expertise.
  • Participate in Pre-Start-Up-Safety-Reviews to ensure safe commissioning and system start-up.
  • Participate in specifying on-site maintenance and repair capability and tooling requirements.
  • Recommend improvements based on Root Cause Failure Analysis (RCFA) findings.
  • Recommend equipment reliability improvements by doing analysis of equipment trends, historical, and field data.
  • Ensure that installation and operations conform to standards and plant requirements by preparing electrical systems specifications and/or technical drawings.
  • Establish construction, manufacturing or installation standards or specifications by performing a wide range of detailed calculations.
  • Ensure compliance with specifications, codes, or plant requirements by directing or coordinating installation, manufacturing, construction, maintenance, documentation, support or testing activities.
  • Additional assignments as deemed necessary by management.

Job description

Focus on different projects in support of the plant's design and operational needs in order to ensure safe and efficient operations that meet business needs across the organization, manage complex issues within functional areas of expertise, & be involved in long term planning.

Required Education / Experience:
