Job summary

General Matter in the US is seeking an Electrical Instrumentation & Controls Engineering Intern to contribute to design, analysis, testing, and implementation of electrical systems at a modern uranium enrichment facility.

Working with a multidisciplinary team, you will gain hands-on experience across power systems, instrumentation, automation, and controls while supporting real engineering projects from concept to validation.

Qualifications

• Pursuing a degree in Electrical Engineering or related field.
• Strong understanding of electrical fundamentals and power systems.
• coursework or project experience in instrumentation or controls.
• Ability to apply first-principles thinking to engineering problems.
• Strong communication and teamwork in multidisciplinary settings.

Responsibilities

• Assist design, analysis, testing, and evaluation of electrical systems.
• Support instrumentation and control system development.
• Contribute to load calculations, power studies, and backup power analyses.
• Create schematics, diagrams, and design documentation.
• Participate in prototyping, bring-up, debugging, and validation testing.
• Collaborate with engineers across disciplines to ensure safe, reliable systems.
