Job summary
Teledyne Brown Engineering Inc. in Huntsville, AL seeks an experienced Electrical/Instrumentation & Controls engineer to design, draft, and analyze electrical systems and I&C hardware for industrial automation projects. Responsibilities include cable design, schematics, BOMs, and manufacturing-ready layouts across multiple projects.
Proficiency in AutoCAD Electrical and PLC programming is essential. Applicants should have a BS in Engineering or related field, 5+ years in industrial automation,
Qualifications
- Proficient with CAD design tool AutoCAD Electrical and ability to develop electrical drawing packages.
- Proficient developing detailed schematics for electrical power and industrial control systems.
- Strong understanding of electrical systems, components, and design principles.
- Experience designing PLC systems or systems utilizing PLCs is a strong plus.
- Experience with nuclear industry QA programs (NQA-1) a strong plus.
- US citizenship with ability to attain/maintain government security clearance.
Responsibilities
- Perform engineering, design, and analysis for instrumentation and control and electrical systems.
- Prepare cable designs, schematics, BOMs, assembly notes, and views.
- Develop designs for manufacture, installation, and test.
- Lead multi-project scheduling and collaborate across disciplines.
- Develop HMI using RSLogix/Studio 5000 (a plus).
- Support design reviews and prepare technical documentation.
