Job summary

Allendale County School District seeks a skilled Maintenance Associate with Electrical & HVAC specialization to maintain, troubleshoot, and repair district facilities’ electrical and HVAC systems. The role requires diagnosing and repairing routine electrical and HVAC problems, performing preventive maintenance, and ensuring safe operation of building systems.

The ideal candidate will read technical diagrams and work with safety procedures, licensing requirements, and EPA refrigerant regulations.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED; 3+ years of hands-on electrical and/or HVAC maintenance experience.
• Ability to read electrical schematics, equipment manuals, and HVAC diagrams.
• EPA Section 608 certification required before refrigerant work, or ability to obtain prior to performing regulated work.

Responsibilities

• Inspects, troubleshoots, maintains, and repairs electrical systems, equipment, and components throughout district facilities.
• Diagnoses and corrects electrical malfunctions involving circuits, breakers, switches, receptacles, lighting fixtures, wiring, and other electrical components.
• Performs electrical installations, replacements, and repairs in accordance with electrical codes, safety standards, and licensing requirements.
• Inspects electrical panels, circuits, and connections to identify hazards and needed repairs.
• Troubleshoots electrical motors, controls, relays, and other components of building systems.
• Performs preventive maintenance on electrical equipment to minimize interruptions to district operations.
• Assists with maintaining emergency lighting, exit signs, and other electrical safety systems.
