Job summary

Puget Sound Energy (PSE) is seeking an Engineer III - Electric Grid Asset Management to advance asset value, manage risk, and control lifecycle costs for distribution and substation assets in Washington state.

The role focuses on asset programs, grid modernization, and reliability improvements with collaboration across multiple teams. Applicants should have a BS or PE, 5+ years, and strong communication skills.

Qualifications

• Bachelor of Science degree or PE license in engineering (Electrical/Mechanical/Civil) or equivalent.
• 5+ years of practice as a degreed engineer with planning, design, cost estimation and scheduling.
• Demonstrated organization, documentation, prioritization, and project management skills.
• Strong interpersonal and communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Interprets and/or modifies guidelines for application to existing problems.
• Prepares complex project portfolios addressing capital cost investments.
• Prepares cost estimates and project evaluations in IDOT/ PowerPlan.
• Plans and supports 5 year program budgets with appropriate documentation.
• Collaborates with wide range of business groups to document business plans and develop new capital spending plans.
• Develops maintenance plans and coordinates with execution teams for successful implementation.
• Provides a detailed review of internal or external technical documents and strategic white papers.
• Ensures compliance with codes, standards, and design, operation, and maintenance requirements.
• Identifies potential areas of weakness with assigned work processes and initiates corrective action.
• Documents and shares work with others to strengthen the depth and breadth of skills within PSE's engineering workforce.
• Communicates solutions to personnel with diverse backgrounds, in verbal and written form.
• Ensures that problem solutions are tailored to PSE's business environment.
• Supports emergency response work including restoration efforts driven by weather and failures.
• May lead or coordinate the work of junior engineers, engineering assistants, field technicians, and others (including contractors). Performs other duties as assigned.
