Job summary

Lee Industrial Contracting in Pontiac, Michigan is seeking a Journeyman or Master Electrician to lead industrial electrical projects from start to finish. Requires a minimum of eight years in industrial electrical roles, the ability to read blueprints and schematics, and a thorough knowledge of NEC guidelines.

Qualifications

  • Must hold Journeyman or Master Electrician license.
  • Minimum of 8 years’ experience in an industrial electrical role.
  • Ability to read blueprints and schematics to determine scope, quantities and materials.
  • Understanding of industrial facilities including structural, electrical and plumbing systems.
  • Strong knowledge of electrical code and NEC guidelines.
  • Ability to install specialty systems, hazardous locations, medium voltage and building controls.
  • Disconnect and reconnect manufactured equipment and related systems.
  • Ability to install, maintain and repair electrical systems per NEC.

Responsibilities
  • Utilize standard electrical testing equipment
  • Troubleshoot electrical issues
  • Collaborate with and assist other trades departments as needed
  • Apply knowledge of policies and procedure followed within the Electrical Division and company
  • Run any size project from start to finish
  • Communicate professionally with customers, project managers, and estimators
  • Strong understanding of turn‑key industrial process
  • Ability to lead multiple crews on larger projects
  • Train apprentices and journeyman electricians
  • Plan new or modified installations to minimize waste of materials, provide access for future maintenance, and avoid unsightly, hazardous, and unreliable wiring, consistent with specifications and local electrical codes
  • Adhere to company safety standards and procedures
Requirements
  • Journeyman or Master Electrician license is required
  • Minimum of 8 years’ experience in an industrial electrical role
  • Able to read blueprints and schematics proficiently to determine the scope of work locations, quantities, and sizes of materials required
  • Understands various aspects of an industrial facility including structural, electrical, plumbing systems, etc.
  • Ability to demonstrate strong knowledge of electrical code and apply it daily while on the job
  • Ability to Install Specialty Systems, Hazardous, Medium Voltage, Building Control
  • Disconnect and Reconnect Manufactured Equipment, Presses, Weld Cells
  • Install, maintain, and repair electrical systems in accordance with NEC guidelines

  • Aerial‑lift Operation – Boom & Scissor Lift
  • Forklift Operation – Material Handling up to 5000 #

Rigging Requirements
  • Signal or verbally direct workers engaged in hoisting and moving loads to ensure safety of workers and materials.
  • Use & recognize limitations of chains, synthetic, metal mesh and wire rope slings
  • Use & recognize rigging hardware including hooks, shackles, wire rope clips, clamps, eye bolts, softeners and tag lines
  • Identifies common load configurations & positioning
  • Calculate load weights
  • Rigger 2 training – trains on above
Physical Requirements
  • Must be able to ascend/descend ladders, scaffolds, stairs, and/or operate scissor/boom lifts while working at height.
  • Work in permit & non‑permit required confined spaces and in proximity to loud equipment.
  • Must be able to lift and carry or otherwise move up to 50 pounds regularly/occasionally
  • Must be able to respond quickly to auditory alarms, visual signals, or other effective means to communicate hazards
  • Must be able to move safely over uneven terrain or in confined spaces.
  • Must be able to work in cold/hot environments.
  • Must be able to traverse irregular and steep terrain.
