Job summary

A-C Electric Company in Bakersfield, CA is seeking a Construction Field Engineer to stay close to the field while developing project-management skills. You will support the Project Manager by keeping critical information current, coordinating documentation, and linking field activity with schedules, drawings, and quality requirements.

Responsibilities include maintaining submittals and logs in Procore, updating schedules, observing field progress, and communicating issues to the project team.

Qualifications

• Must have a high school diploma or equivalent.
• Basic knowledge of construction processes, sequencing and terminology.
• Strong organizational and time-management skills with ability to manage changing priorities.
• Clear written and verbal communication; able to exchange information with office and field teams.
• Willingness to learn and take on increasing responsibilities on project teams.
• Familiarity with Procore and standard construction project software is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Maintain accurate project documentation including submittals, RFIs, drawings and logs.
• Support scheduling updates and tracking of production against drawings.
• Observe field progress, document QA/QC results, and report discrepancies.
• Read plans and specs to identify inconsistencies and raise questions.
• Coordinate information across the project team in meetings and logs.
