• Salary Range: $119,800 - $182,700 annually (salary range is based on market data; final salary offered is determined by education, experience, and qualifications of the applicant.)

Job Summary

The Electrical Engineer reports to the Lead Electrical or the Area Field Engineer and is responsible for the technical oversight of all electrical activities in their area of the project. The selected applicant will provide technical direction and supervision to the direct hire/subcontractor workforce. The Electrical Engineer is responsible for all aspects of electrical-related work. #NP-LP1

Major Responsibilities

• Must have experience with construction in all areas of electrical construction.
• Coordinate with supervision the work schedule and any material deliveries required.
• Complete training requirements assigned.
• Prepare electrical work packages.
• Inspect field installations and complete associated documentation.
• Responsible for quantity take‑off, control, reporting and forecasting for all electrical quantities.
• Prepare field change documentation and as‑built documentation as required.
• Interface with engineering office to resolve design and constructability issues.
• Assist superintendents and subcontractors in constructability and quality issues.
• Work with suppliers to ensure compliance with project drawings and specifications.
• Prepare material requisitions, coordinate and review vendor drawings.
• Work with Procurement's expediting team to ensure delivery of vendor materials to support the project schedule.
• Interpret design drawings.
• Complete material take‑offs.
• Assure that materials are stored properly to ensure environmental protection.
• Perform material receipt inspections as required.
• Review specifications, inspection reports, delivery schedules, instruction manuals and technical data.
• Assist with preparation of construction estimates.
• Recommend design or installation improvements to improve safety on the project.

Education and Experience Requirements

Requires a University/B.S. degree in Electrical Engineering with 10‑13 years of relevant experience desired; may be waived if 14‑17 years of equivalent industry experience can be demonstrated.

Required Knowledge and Skills

• Experience with Bechtel direct hire craft is preferred.
• Contract management experience.
• Understanding of applicable Bechtel work processes, including Standard Work Process procedures.
• Experience in mining and metals is preferred.
• Familiarity with Bechtel Standard Applications (BSAPs), including ACONEX, TEAMWorks, Bechtel Productivity System, PTR, eSub and other automation tools used on Bechtel projects is an asset.
• Computer literate in word processing, spreadsheet and database applications.
• Working knowledge of applicable industry codes and standards.
