Job summary

Mass. Electric Construction Co. is seeking an Engineer II to support field and office engineering, project control tasks, and estimating for infrastructure construction projects.

The role requires collaboration with field crews, engineers, and management, with frequent travel as needed to project sites. The position emphasizes accurate drawings interpretation, quantity takeoffs, and preparation of work packages, job hazard analyses, and safety compliance.

Qualifications

• Undergraduate degree in civil engineering or related field.
• 3+ years' construction field experience.
• Ability to travel and relocate as needed.
• Ability to read and analyze engineering plans and contract documents.
• Strong teamwork and communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Assist in interpretation of drawings and specs for field crews and craft supervision.
• Perform quantity takeoffs by measurements and percent complete.
• Assist in preparation of work plans and work packages.
• Assist in field surveying and layout support including elevation and control points.
• Assist in compiling labor timesheets and daily reports.
• Assist in Job Hazard Analyses (JHA's) and site safety reviews.
• Order and schedule material deliveries; plan and coordinate on-site groups.
• Supervise field operations and provide field support.
• Assist in material takeoffs and basic engineering calculations for field ops.
• Support submittals to customers and vendors; aid in cost reporting and change orders.
• Assist in plan/spec reviews for bids and prepare bid data.
