Job summary

Mass. Electric Construction Co. is seeking an Engineer II to help plan, organize and implement project engineering and controls tasks. You will collaborate with field crews, engineers, and management to support field and office operations in multiple locations.

The role emphasizes interpretation of drawings, takeoffs, work planning, and safety. Candidates should have 3+ years in construction and an engineering degree, with relocation flexibility preferred for project deployment.

Qualifications

• 3+ years' construction field experience.
• Ability to read, analyze and identify discrepancies on engineering plans, specifications, and contract documents.
• Ability to freely access all points of a construction site in wide-ranging climates and environment.
• Strong initiative, work ethic and attention to detail.

Responsibilities

• Assist in interpretation of drawings and specifications for field crews and craft supervision.
• Perform quantity calculations and takeoffs from drawings and specs.
• Assist in preparation of work plans, packages and JHA’s.
• Support field surveying and layout including elevation, control points, and as-built data.
• Assist in daily labor timesheets, RFIs, and job cost data entry.
• Coordinate material deliveries and supervision of field operations.
• Contribute to safety reviews, toolbox meetings and training.
• Assist with purchasing, subcontracts, and change orders.
