Job summary

KODIAK Construction Recruiting & Staffing is seeking an Electrical Field Engineer in Charleston, SC to support commercial and industrial electrical construction projects. You will collaborate with Project Managers, Superintendents, electricians, engineers, subcontractors, and customers to solve technical challenges from planning through completion.

Qualifications

  • Experience in electrical construction projects and field operations.
  • Ability to review drawings, calculations, and specs for quality and compliance.
  • Strong troubleshooting skills with a practical, field‑oriented mindset.
  • Proficiency with MS Office and construction management platforms.

Responsibilities

  • Provide technical electrical support to project and field teams.
  • Review electrical drawings, specifications, scopes, and installation requirements.
  • Perform or assist with electrical calculations and system capacity evaluations.
  • Help troubleshoot electrical installation, design, and coordination issues.
  • Support the design or redesign of electrical systems when field conditions change.
  • Assist with value engineering and constructability reviews.
  • Prepare and track RFIs, submittals, change orders, and technical documentation.
  • Coordinate with electricians, superintendents, engineers, vendors, and subcontractors.
  • Monitor field progress, labor productivity, materials, and quality.
  • Help ensure work complies with the NEC, project specifications, and safety requirements.
  • Support scheduling, procurement, budgeting, and project closeout activities.

We are seeking a technically strong Electrical Field Engineer to support commercial, industrial, infrastructure, and federal electrical construction projects in the Charleston area.

This position is ideal for someone who understands electrical construction beyond schedules and paperwork. You will work directly with Project Managers, Superintendents, electricians, engineers, subcontractors, and customers to solve technical challenges and help move projects from planning through completion.

The right candidate will bring a strong foundation in electrical systems, installation methods, code requirements, safety, and field operations.

  • Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Construction Management, or a related field preferred
  • Hands‑on electrical field experience, apprenticeship training, or relevant technical education
  • Understanding of electrical systems, installation methods, drawings, and code requirements
  • Ability to perform electrical calculations and evaluate technical information
  • Strong troubleshooting, communication, and problem-solving skills
  • Experience with commercial or industrial electrical construction
  • Government or federal project experience is highly preferred
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office and construction management software
  • A proactive, accountable, and field‑focused mindset
