Job summary

Raytheon in McKinney, TX seeks an Electrical Engineer for the Failure Analysis Lab. You will perform root-cause analysis on electronic and electromechanical devices, using electrical characterization, X-ray, CT, SEM, and other analytical methods to support program goals.

The role requires a STEM degree with 5+ years of experience (or an advanced degree with 3+ years) and strong report-writing skills. This is an onsite position with collaboration across a multidisciplinary team.

Qualifications

• STEM degree and 5+ years of relevant experience, or an advanced degree with 3+ years.
• Strong EE knowledge across analog, digital, RF, and signal integrity.
• Experience with electrical lab equipment (curve tracers, oscilloscopes, spectrum analyzers, DMMs, etc.).
• Ability to author technical reports and present findings clearly.
• Working knowledge of Microsoft Office (Word, PowerPoint, Excel, OneNote).

Responsibilities

• Perform root cause failure analysis of Raytheon products including characterization of failures of electronic or electromechanical devices.
• Diagnose failures at component and assembly level using electrical characterization techniques, X‑ray analysis, deprocessing and related methods.
• Demonstrate expertise with optical microscopes, CT X‑ray, SEMs, analytical chemistry equipment, and other analytical tools.
• Prepare formal analysis reports supporting conclusions and recommend solutions.
• Work collaboratively in a multidisciplinary team with some oversight from senior engineers.
