Job summary

Rocket Lab USA in Long Beach, CA seeks a Facilities Technician II to maintain and upgrade electrical infrastructure at the headquarters and Engine Development Center. Onsite work involves electrical systems up to 480V, coordinating with internal teams to meet project timelines and safety standards.

You will learn schematics, conduit work, and equipment installation while supporting general facilities tasks and working with cross-functional teams.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma and 1+ years of experience.
• Hands-on experience or coursework with mechanical and/or electrical equipment.
• Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite.

Responsibilities

• Assist with installation, troubleshooting, repair, and upgrade of building electrical systems under guidance.
• Support electrical infrastructure projects including power distribution and panel upgrades.
• Collaborate with Manufacturing, Engineering, EHS, Production, IT to define electrical requirements.
• Read and interpret electrical schematics, single-line diagrams, and construction drawings.
• Assist in installing and modifying conduit systems and bending conduit.
• Assist in sizing and selection of conductors, breakers, transformers, and distribution equipment per NEC and code.
• Help with equipment installations, procurement support, layout planning, and energization.
• Manage electrical work orders through JIRA and prioritize tasks with supervisors.
• Ensure work complies with NEC, OSHA and local codes.
• Oversee contractors and ensure standards are met.
• Support general facilities maintenance tasks including HVAC, plumbing, painting, and minor construction.
