Job summary

Howmet Aerospace Inc. in Morristown, TN is seeking a Facilities Engineer to support, plan, and execute plant projects across mechanical, electrical, and utility systems.

You will serve as the electrical SME, ensuring compliance with NEC/NFPA 70, NFPA 70E, OSHA, and internal Howmet standards while leading capital projects and reliability initiatives. Responsibilities include project leadership from concept to commissioning, equipment selection alignment with manufacturing needs, FATs, and travel

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Electrical, Mechanical, Industrial Engineering or related field.
• Minimum 3 years of engineering experience in a manufacturing, facilities, or industrial environment.
• Strong working knowledge of electrical theory and systems, including 480V 3-phase distribution.
• Experience with electrical safe work practices and energized work protocols.
• Ability to read engineering drawings (P&IDs, one-lines).
• Proficiency with AutoCAD, SolidWorks, and standard office software.

Responsibilities

• Lead capital and facility improvement projects from concept to commissioning.
• Integrate stakeholder requirements into equipment selection and layouts.
• Evaluate feasibility of new equipment considering cost, space, schedule, technical requirements, and impacts.
• Prepare and maintain engineering documentation including specs, drawings, and installation requirements.
• Supervise electrical and mechanical contractors and provide direction during projects.
• Conduct FAT, benchmarking, and vendor site visits (up to 25% travel).
