Job summary

Irby Construction Company, a Quanta Services subsidiary, is seeking an Estimator to prepare accurate cost estimates for utility, infrastructure, and civil projects. You will collaborate with PMs, engineers, and procurement to align estimates with project goals and bid requirements.

The role emphasizes analytical rigor, attention to detail, and strong knowledge of electrical systems and bid processes. Office-based with occasional site coordination and pre-bid activities.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Construction Management, Engineering, or related field or equivalent experience.
• 5+ years of utility/infrastructure estimating experience (gas, electric, civil).
• Strong understanding of construction means, methods, and industry standards.
• Proficiency in estimating software and MS Office Suite.

Responsibilities

• Review RFPs, RFQs, drawings and specs to determine project scope and requirements.
• Prepare detailed cost estimates for labor, materials, equipment and subcontractor services.
• Identify high-risk cost areas and suggest contingencies or mitigation strategies.
• Develop bid clarifications and proposal documents for client submissions.
• Develop detailed electrical cost estimates for data centers and EPC projects.
• Coordinate with project managers, engineers, and procurement during bid prep.
