We are seeking an Electrical Estimator - Project Manager to join us.
Well-established subcontractor seeks an experienced professional for commercial electrical projects statewide.
Job Duties:
- Prepares work to be accomplished by gathering information and requirements, sets priorities.
- Prepares estimates by studying plans; updating specifications; identifying and projecting costs.
- Evaluates offers to purchase by costing changes, additions, and site requirements.
- Develops new, maintains existing relationships, and obtains bids from vendors and subcontractors by specifying materials through identification of qualified subcontractors; negotiating prices.
- Qualifies bids through interaction with contractor, owner representatives.
- Maintains cost keys and price masters by updating information.
- Resolves cost discrepancies by collecting and analyzing information.
- Identifies potential conflicts or problems within bid documents.
- Maintains quality service by following organization standards.
- Maintains continuity by documenting and communicating actions, irregularities, and continuing needs.
- Maintains professional and technical knowledge by attending educational workshops; reviewing professional publications; establishing personal networks; participating in professional societies.
- Develops and maintains current relationships with customers, bidding continually to keep a relevant project backlog.
- Attends pre-bid and site project meetings, including those requiring business travel.
- Reviews the project in-depth to schedule deliverables and estimate costs.
- Reviews and corrects all submittals.
- Manages the contracting process.
- Works daily with Field Supervision to develop layout drawings, commodities list, and purchase orders, and to monitor project progress and conditions.
- Coordinates schedules of the job with customers and other subcontractors.
- Maintains current communication and logs for change orders with all internal and external parties.
- Projects manpower requirements.
- Monitors field production.
- Assists Field Supervision in structuring crews.
- Develops and continually updates cost to complete estimates.
- Participates in project billings with the Accounting department.
Construction Skills and Qualifications:
- Combination of verifiable related education and work history indicating ability to estimate multiple large and small-scale projects.
- Proficient with technology, computers, and software such as Microsoft Office, Excel, and McCormick Cost Estimating programs.
- Prior experience with the electrical trade and cost estimating.
- Knowledge of NEC and construction standards.
- Experience with public and private commercial projects.
