Job summary

Miller Electric is seeking an Electrical Estimator to join our preconstruction team in Jacksonville. You will develop cost estimates from take-off to bid hand-off, work with ConEst, and prepare change orders, while analyzing material and labor requirements to complete projects.

You will read blueprints, perform on-screen takeoffs, and collaborate with engineers, customers, vendors, and Project Managers to ensure accurate bids and competitive pricing.

Qualifications

• 2–4 years electrical estimating experience.
• Proven experience working with vendors.
• General knowledge of the NEC and Low Voltage Systems.
• High proficiency in Microsoft Office.
• Journeyman or Master Electrician license is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Develop cost estimates from the take-off stage to bid hand-off.
• Work with ConEst Estimating Software.
• Develop cost estimates for change orders.
• Analyze material and labor requirements to complete a project.
• Attend pre-bid and scope review meetings.
• Compute and submit bids.
• Read and thoroughly understand blueprints.
• Perform fully on-screen electronic takeoffs and markups.
• Meet with engineers, customers, vendors, and Project Managers.
• Visually inspect project locations to determine labor/material needs.
• Contact vendors for pricing.
• Assess the costs of leasing equipment.
• Maintain change order submissions/documents in an organized manner.

Essential Duties & Responsibilities

Qualifications

REQUIRED:

• 2-4 years electrical estimating experience.

• Proven experience working with vendors.

• General knowledge of the National Electrical Code (NEC) and Low Voltage Systems

• High proficiency in Microsoft Office

PREFERRED:

• Hands‑on construction experience

• Bluebeam and ConEst

• Journeyman or Master Electrician’s License
