Job summary

Airco Refrigeration and Air Conditioning Ltd is seeking an Electrical Estimator in Hull. The role involves producing precise cost estimates for electrical and M&E projects, reviewing tender docs, and coordinating with suppliers and clients to ensure competitive, compliant bids.

You will negotiate quotations, support tender submissions, and work with internal teams to transition from tender to project delivery. A proactive, detail‑minded professional with strong communication is ideal.

Qualifications

• HNC/HND in Electrical Engineering or related discipline desirable.
• Experience in electrical estimating or related M&E role preferred.
• Ability to interpret drawings, specs and tender documentation accurately.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills for liaising with clients and suppliers.
• Negotiation skills and commercial awareness to secure best value.
• Proficient with Word/Excel; experience with estimating software advantageous.
• Highly organised with ability to manage multiple tenders and tight deadlines.

Responsibilities

• Produce accurate, itemised cost estimates for electrical and M&E projects.
• Review tender drawings, specs, and employer’s requirements to identify scope, risks and opportunities.
• Source, evaluate and negotiate supplier and subcontractor quotations.
• Liaise with clients, consultants and subcontractors to clarify technical requirements.
• Prepare complete tender submissions with pricing, clarifications and VE options.
• Collaborate with estimating, design and project teams through tender to handover.
• Manage multiple tenders concurrently and meet deadlines.
• Maintain cost databases and supplier information for future tenders.
