Job summary

ArchKey Solutions is seeking an Electrical Estimator based in Clinton, MD. You will support preconstruction with estimates, bid reviews, and cost analyses, collaborating with project teams to ensure accurate, buildable estimates and compliant documents.

The ideal candidate has 1–5 years of electrical estimating experience, strong analytical skills, and proficiency with LEAN methodologies. Occasional site surveys and ongoing mentorship are part of the role.

Qualifications

• Associate degree or equivalent work experience in construction management or related field.
• Minimum 1–5 years of electrical construction experience in estimating, code requirements, and design/build estimating.
• Ability to read, interpret, and understand electrical contracts, plans, drawings, blueprints, and specifications.
• Strong knowledge of electrical codes and local building department requirements.
• LEAN methodologies experience or similar process improvements.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills for documentation and reporting.

Responsibilities

• Plans and monitors estimating activities on each project for quality and accuracy.
• Reviews bid documents with project manager and chief estimator to determine costs.
• Uses estimating software to estimate projects accurately.
• Surveys job sites to determine scope and cost-effective plans.
• Prepares estimate documents and assists with bids, RFPs, and related reports.
• Ensures estimates meet customer and company conditions for satisfaction.
• Works with purchasing to reduce material buyout risk and with design on design-build/assist projects.
• Provides coaching and mentoring to coworkers.
