Job summary

Vaco by Highspring on the northwest side of Indianapolis is seeking an Electrical Estimator for a full-time, direct-hire role. You will analyze electrical plans and specifications, develop accurate cost estimates, and support bid packages for diverse projects.

The ideal candidate has 3–5 years in electrical estimating, proficiency with Accubid/ConEst/McCormick or equivalents, and strong blueprint reading, math, and communication skills. A related degree is preferred; licensure is a plus.

Qualifications

3–5 years of experience as an Electrical Estimator in commercial, industrial, or large-scale residential construction.
Proficiency with estimating software (Accubid, ConEst, McCormick or equivalent).
Strong knowledge of electrical codes, systems and construction practices.
Ability to read and interpret blueprints, schematics and technical documents.
Excellent analytical, mathematical and organizational skills.
Effective written and verbal communication, with ability to manage multiple estimates.

Responsibilities

Analyze project plans and documentation to develop detailed cost estimates for electrical work.
Perform quantity take-offs to determine material, labor, and time requirements.
Obtain and evaluate supplier and subcontractor quotes.
Prepare bid packages and proposals.
Collaborate with project managers and engineers on bid strategy.
Stay current on market pricing and industry standards.
Conduct post-project cost reviews to improve accuracy.
Participate in value engineering and constructability reviews.
Attend pre-bid meetings and site visits to evaluate conditions.
