Job summary

The NRL Group is seeking an experienced electrical estimator to support major data centre and industrial projects. You will work on detailed cost estimates, pricing, and bid submissions with a focus on accuracy and lifecycle cost considerations.

Based in Sunderland with flexible working arrangements, you will collaborate with design, commercial, and delivery teams to drive winning tenders and successful handovers, using BIM or digital estimating tools where appropriate.

Qualifications

• Proven experience in electrical estimating in building services or construction.
• Strong knowledge of electrical systems for data centres or industrial environments.
• Ability to read drawings and technical specs.
• Proficient in estimating software and MS Office; strong numerical skills.

Responsibilities

• Prepare detailed cost estimates for LV/HV distribution, UPS, generators, containment, and lighting.
• Quantify materials, labour, equipment and subcontractor costs.
• Evaluate supplier quotes for technical and commercial compliance.
• Develop cost breakdowns and tender submissions with lifecycle considerations.
• Attend site visits and pre-bid meetings to assess scope and risks.
• Collaborate with design, commercial, and delivery teams on bid strategy.
• Interpret drawings and specs to price accurately and find value engineering opportunities.
• Support post-tender negotiations and project handovers with documentation.
