Job summary

Watson Electrical Construction Co. LLC is seeking an experienced Electrical Estimator to join our Charlotte, NC team.

The role focuses on preparing competitive bids, determining scope, and pricing for commercial, industrial, and residential projects. Responsibilities include reviewing drawings, performing takeoffs, requesting supplier quotes, and coordinating with project management to ensure accurate, timely bid submissions.

Qualifications

• Must possess a current state driver's license.
• Experience with Accubid software preferred.
• Experience with Live Count preferred, but not required.
• Experience in CAD and/or 3D software preferred, but not required.

Responsibilities

• Review proposal specifications and drawings to determine scope of work and required contents of estimate.
• Prepare estimates by calculating complete takeoff of scope of work and enter into computer estimating system; review computer reports for accuracy and completeness.
• Request quotes from suppliers for materials and equipment.
• Identify qualified suppliers/subcontractors and solicit quotes. Review quotes for completeness with established plans and specifications.
• Itemize and quantify all incidentals necessary in preparing the bid packages including subcontract work, equipment rentals, tools and suppliers.
• Prior to the issuing of formal bid packages, provide principals a detailed review of scope, technical requirements and pricing for the estimated bid package.
• Responsible for the timely completion of all client-required documents.
• Draft scope letter inclusions, exclusions, and clarifications for estimate figures.
• After the successful bid at project turnover, meet with Project Management to fully explain the estimate, scope of work, quotes and offer aspects for the successful transition of the project.
