Thompson Construction Group, Inc. in South Carolina seeks a skilled Estimator for our Capital Projects division, based in North Charleston.

You will analyze blueprints, specifications, proposals, and other documents to prepare time, cost, and labor estimates, including material and equipment costs, for diverse projects. Responsibilities include quantity take-offs, assembling estimates for budgeting and bid submittals, reviewing plans with owners and design teams, and maintaining supplier

Formación

• 4-year degree in engineering or construction management or equivalent
• Experience estimating electrical projects; experience with mechanical, civil, structural steel projects helpful
• Proficient in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook)
• Excellent written and oral communication skills
• Strong math and analytical cost/pricing skills
• Ability to work under tight deadlines
• Ability to establish and maintain positive working relationships
• Experience with Conest, Accubid or other estimating software
• Knowledge of bid forms, bid requirements, bonds, and related front-end specs

Responsabilidades

• Quantify project quantities using take-off tools
• Assemble estimates for budgeting and bid submittals
• Review estimates with owners and design teams for value engineering and constructability
• Review preliminary plans and architectural drawings
• Prepare itemized material and labor lists
• Visit job sites to assess site access and infrastructure
• Develop cost factors for bids and vendor/subcontractor selection
• Conduct studies to establish standard cost data and reductions
• Consult with clients, vendors to resolve estimates
• Maintain supplier relationships to monitor pricing
• Monitor project profitability and update estimates as needed
• Create cost-monitoring processes
• Assess duration, scope, and profitability of new projects
• Other duties as assigned
