Job summary

Guarantee Electrical Company is seeking an Electrical Estimator to prepare accurate cost estimates for construction projects. You will analyze drawings, specifications, and other documents, and support bids from proposal through final documents.

Ideal candidates bring 5+ years in architectural, engineering, or construction preconstruction, with experience bidding industrial work and strong value engineering skills. ESOP and competitive benefits accompany a stable, employee-owned culture.

Qualifications

• Two-year college degree or training in construction or related field.
• Experience bidding industrial electrical work preferred.
• Strong ability to read drawings, specs, and documents for estimates.

Responsibilities

• Prepare project bids by collecting proposals, blueprints, specs and related docs.
• Compute costs via take-offs, labor, materials and time estimates.
• Support estimating and project management by updating all estimates and designs.
• Attend meetings with architects/customers to resolve bid issues and coordinate documents.
• Monitor design scope changes affecting budget or schedule and advise accordingly.
• Perform other duties as assigned.

Electrical Estimator

As our Electrical Estimator, you will be a key player in providing accurate, competitive, and well-documented electrical estimates. As an Electrical Estimator, you'll analyze drawings, specifications, and other documents to prepare cost estimates for construction projects.

Your Impact:

• Preparation of project bids, gathering proposals, blueprints, specifications and related documents. Identifies labor, material, and time requirements by studying proposals, blueprints and related documents.
• Computes costs by performing take-off, analyzing labor, material and time requirements.
• Provide critical support to estimating and project management by updating all estimating and design-build projects, working with owner/developer/architect for bid to companies.
• Attend meetings with project architects/customer as needed to assist with unresolved problems and ensure adequate coordination is happening to ensure accurate bid documents.
• Help monitor design scope for changes affecting budget or schedule; identifies cause and advises customer as needed.
• Other duties as assigned.

Who you are:

• Two-year college degree or training; or equivalent experience within the construction industry
• Experience bidding industrial work
• 5+ years Architectural, Engineering, or Construction field, performing preconstruction efforts and/or preparing proposal/qualification statements

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities

• Understanding of value engineering concept and knowledge of electrical code, building codes and standards.
• Microsoft Office, Bluebeam, Viewpoint, Accubid.
• Exceptional organization skills and project/program management.
• Attention to detail, self-reliant, ability to balance workload, professional & positive attitude.
