This is an on-site position at our office located in Franklin County, Massachusetts.

Experience and licensure(s):

·Licensed Electrician

·MA Journeyman’s Electrical License with the ability and willingness to obtain a Master's License

·Familiarity with Microsoft Office and the Windows Operating system

·Ability to work independently and with others

·Master Electrical Licenses MA

·3-5 years of experience as an Electrical Estimator in commercial/industrial projects

·Commercial and Industrial estimating experience

·Ability to work closely with Customers/ General Contractors to design a project to meet their needs while operating within the project budget.

·Familiar and competent in estimating software use, *willing to train the right individual

·Able to work and communicate with Engineers and Architects regularly and respectfully

·Have the ability to work with distributors efficiently.

Responsibilities:

The Electrical Estimator will be responsible for a wide range of duties, including but not limited to:

• Prepare cost estimates for product manufacturing, construction projects, or services to aid management in bidding on or determining the price of products or services.
• Collect historical cost data to estimate costs for current or future products.
• Analyze blueprints, specifications, and other documentation to accurately prepare time, cost, materials, and labor estimates.
• Prepare estimates used by management for purposes such as planning, organizing, and scheduling work.
• Confer with clients, vendors, internal personnel, engineers, architects, owners, contractors, and subcontractors to discuss and formulate estimates and resolve issues.
• Assess the cost-effectiveness of products, projects, or services, tracking actual costs relative to bids as the project develops.
• Prepare estimates for use in selecting vendors or subcontractors.
• Review material and labor requirements to decide whether it is more cost-effective to produce or purchase components.
• Visit project sites to record information about access, drainage, topography, and availability of services such as water and electricity.
• Establish and maintain tendering processes and conduct negotiations.
• Communicate effectively with supervisors, peers, and external organizations.
• Foster strong interpersonal relationships.

Information Management:

• Process and analyze detailed information.
• Document and record all estimation data accurately.
• Estimate the quantifiable characteristics of products, events, or information.

Skills & Abilities:

• Strong knowledge of electrical systems, components, and installation methods.
• Thorough understanding of the National Electrical Code (NEC) and other relevant industry standards.
• Proficiency with estimating software (Plan Swift, EBM, and Onscreen takeoff) and Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, Outlook).
• Ability to read and interpret complex blueprints, schematics, and specifications.
• Excellent analytical and mathematical skills.
• Strong attention to detail and accuracy.
• Ability to manage multiple projects and deadlines simultaneously.
• Effective written and verbal communication skills.
• Strong negotiation and problem-solving abilities.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
• Proactive and self-motivated with a positive attitude.
