Job summary

Talently is seeking an Electrical Estimator to join our leading construction team in the San Francisco Bay Area. You will prepare detailed estimates, perform takeoffs in Accubid, review drawings, and develop complete cost estimates for commercial electrical projects, supporting preconstruction and bid processes.

You will work with general contractors, customers, vendors, and field teams to secure bids and ensure smooth handoffs to construction, with strong focus on accuracy and deadlines.

Qualifications

• 3+ years of commercial electrical estimating experience.
• Professional Accubid experience for takeoffs and estimates.
• Strong understanding of commercial electrical construction methods.
• Ability to read electrical drawings, specs, and construction docs.
• Experience preparing complete electrical estimates and bids.
• Strong math, analytical, problem-solving, and organizational skills.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Excel and Office.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Develop labor, material, equipment, subcontractor, and other project cost estimates.
• Analyze plans to identify scope requirements, conflicts, risks, and value-engineering opportunities.
• Solicit and evaluate pricing from suppliers, manufacturers, and subcontractors.
• Prepare bid proposals with clear inclusions, exclusions, clarifications, and qualifications.
• Coordinate with project management and field teams to support constructability reviews and a smooth handoff to construction.

Must-Have Skills:

• Professional experience using Accubid for electrical takeoffs and detailed estimating.
• Strong understanding of commercial electrical construction methods, materials, systems, and installation practices.
• Ability to read and interpret electrical drawings, specifications, architectural plans, and construction documents.
• Demonstrated experience preparing complete electrical estimates and competitive bids.
• Strong mathematical, analytical, problem-solving, and organizational skills.
• Ability to manage multiple estimates and deadlines while maintaining exceptional attention to detail.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office, particularly Excel.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.

Nice-to-Have Skills:

• Experience estimating ground-up commercial construction and tenant improvement projects.
• Background estimating high-rise, office, healthcare, institutional, hospitality, life science, or mission-critical facilities.
• Experience with low-voltage and communications systems.
• Experience estimating design-build electrical projects or projects valued at $5 million or more.
• Knowledge of labor productivity, material procurement, scheduling, project risk, and market conditions.
• Experience participating in pre-bid meetings, job walks, and site visits.
• Ability to track bid results and maintain organized estimating documentation.
• Experience supporting value engineering, conceptual estimates, and preliminary pricing.
