Job summary

ITP (International Talent Partnership) is assisting a national electrical contractor in locating a Senior/Chief Electrical Estimator for Los Angeles or San Diego. The role focuses on leading large-scale electrical estimates for commercial, industrial, mission-critical, and data center projects, while partnering with leadership, management, and vendors to optimize bid strategies and outcomes.

• Significant electrical estimating experience, 8–10+ years for Chief Estimator level.
• Experience with electrical contracting or specialist MEP contractor.
• Strong background in commercial, industrial, mission-critical or data center projects.
• Experience leading complex bids and managing estimates from review to submission.
• Proficiency with Accubid, Accubid Anywhere, ConEst or similar software.
• Strong understanding of electrical construction costs, labour productivity, and installation methods.
• Ability to interpret electrical drawings, specs and construction docs.
• Excellent commercial, analytical, communication, and leadership skills.
• Experience mentoring estimating teams is desirable.

Responsibilities

• Prepare and lead detailed electrical estimates for large-scale construction projects.
• Review drawings, specs, and bid documents to determine project scope.
• Perform electrical quantity take-offs for power, lighting, LV and related systems.
• Develop labour, material, equipment, and subcontractor pricing.
• Coordinate with vendors and subs to secure competitive pricing.
• Identify scope gaps, commercial risks, and cost-saving opportunities.
• Lead bid reviews, value engineering, and preconstruction meetings.
• Collaborate with project management, engineering, and senior leadership.
• Support major pursuits, bid strategies, and estimating processes.
• Mentor and support other estimators where appropriate.

Position Overview

We are seeking an experienced Senior / Chief Electrical Estimator to join the team in Los Angeles or San Diego.

This role will lead and support major electrical construction bids, developing accurate and competitive estimates for large-scale commercial, industrial, mission-critical, and data center projects.

The successful candidate will work closely with leadership, project management, engineering, vendors, and subcontractors to develop bid strategies, evaluate project costs, identify risks, and support successful project awards.

This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced estimator to join a leading electrical contractor, contribute to significant projects, and take on a senior technical or leadership role.

Key Responsibilities

• Prepare and lead detailed electrical estimates for large-scale construction projects.
• Review drawings, specifications, and bid documents to determine project scope.

• Develop labour, material, equipment, and subcontractor pricing.
