Job summary

Gleeds in the United States is seeking an experienced Electrical Estimator to join our Data Center team, delivering detailed electrical estimates for large‑scale, mission‑critical projects nationwide. Responsibilities include reviewing drawings and specs, developing quantity take‑offs, and preparing estimates at design through procurement stages, with cost management support across the project lifecycle.

Qualifications

  • 5+ years of electrical estimating, cost management, or related construction discipline.
  • Experience on large-scale commercial, industrial, mission-critical, or data center projects.
  • Strong understanding of electrical construction methods, materials, labor, and costs.
  • Ability to interpret electrical drawings, specifications, and technical documents.
  • Proficiency with estimating software and Microsoft Excel.

Responsibilities

  • Prepare detailed electrical estimates for data center and mission-critical projects from early design through procurement and construction.
  • Review drawings, specifications, scopes of work, and other project documentation to develop accurate and comprehensive estimates.
  • Develop detailed quantity take-offs for electrical systems, equipment, materials, and labor.
  • Prepare conceptual, schematic, design development, and detailed estimates at various stages of project development.
  • Analyze subcontractor and supplier quotations and provide recommendations based on scope, pricing, and market conditions.
  • Develop and maintain cost databases, benchmarks, and historical cost information.
  • Identify cost risks, exclusions, assumptions, and opportunities within estimates.
  • Work closely with Cost Managers, Project Managers, designers, contractors, and clients to validate project scope and costs.
  • Support value engineering exercises and provide cost-saving recommendations without compromising project requirements.
  • Assist with bid evaluations, procurement strategies, and tender analysis.
  • Monitor changes in design and scope and assess their impact on project costs.
  • Support the preparation of cost reports, budget updates, and forecasting throughout the project lifecycle.
  • Maintain awareness of current electrical construction market conditions, labor rates, material pricing, and supply chain trends.

Job description

We are seeking an experienced Electrical Estimator to join our growing Data Center team, supporting the delivery of large‑scale, technically complex mission‑critical projects across the United States.

This is an opportunity to work alongside experienced project and cost management professionals, providing detailed electrical estimating and cost planning throughout the project lifecycle. The successful candidate will have strong knowledge of electrical systems and construction costs, with experience estimating complex commercial, industrial, mission‑critical, or data center projects.

Responsibilities include but are not limited to:

Experience, Knowledge And Key Skills
  • 5+ years of experience in electrical estimating, cost management, quantity surveying, or a related construction discipline.
  • Experience working on large‑scale commercial, industrial, mission‑critical, or data center projects.
  • Strong understanding of electrical construction methods, materials, labor, and installation costs.
  • Ability to interpret electrical drawings, specifications, and technical documentation.
  • Strong experience with electrical quantity take‑offs and cost estimating.
  • Excellent analytical and numerical skills with strong attention to detail.
  • Ability to manage multiple estimates and priorities in a fast‑paced environment.
  • Strong communication skills and the ability to work effectively with clients, contractors, consultants, and internal teams.
  • Proficiency with estimating and construction software and Microsoft Excel.
Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, Construction Management, Quantity Surveying, Engineering, or a related field preferred.
