Job summary

bls-us is seeking an Electrical Estimator to prepare accurate cost estimates for electrical construction projects, analyzing labor and material costs and coordinating with project teams.

You will review drawings, prepare bids, track market trends, and identify cost-saving opportunities while maintaining data for future references. This role supports project planning and winning new work.

Qualifications

  • 2–3 years of electrical estimating or related field experience.
  • Knowledge of electrical codes and safety protocols.
  • Experience reading project drawings and bid documents.
  • Proficient in cost analysis and pricing.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication.

Responsibilities

  • Develop detailed cost estimates for electrical construction projects, including materials, labor, equipment, and subcontractor costs.
  • Review project specifications, drawings, and bid documents to determine scope and requirements.
  • Prepare and submit competitive bids and proposals in alignment with project timelines and budget expectations.
  • Research and source materials and equipment to ensure accurate pricing and cost efficiency.
  • Work closely with project managers, engineers, and vendors to ensure estimates reflect realistic project conditions.
  • Track market trends, labor rates, and material costs to ensure up-to-date pricing and cost projections.
  • Identify potential cost-saving opportunities and risk factors in project estimates.
  • Maintain and update historical cost data for future reference.
  • Attend pre-bid meetings and conduct site visits as needed to assess project conditions and requirements.

The Electrical Estimator is responsible for preparing accurate and competitive cost estimates for electrical projects. This role requires analyzing project specifications, evaluating labor and material costs, and collaborating with internal teams to ensure estimates align with company standards and client requirements. The Electrical Estimator plays a key role in securing new projects and supporting project planning and execution.

Education, Experience, Certifications

Education: High School Diploma/GED or higher level. Electrical schooling preferred.

Experience: 2-3 years of experience in the electrical field preferred.

Licenses/Certifications: Valid Driver\'s License and an Electrical Apprentice License (upon hire) for state of work.
