Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required; trade certifications may be preferred.
• Experience as an estimator in construction or electrical projects.
• Journeyman Electrician background is preferred to support electrical cost estimation.
• Ability to read plans, specs, and contracts and gather data accurately.

Responsibilities

• Review design plans, specifications, and contracts to identify project requirements.
• Analyze specifications and coordinate with architects, engineers, and managers for cost savings.
• Obtain quotes from suppliers and subcontractors for materials and labor.
• Prepare comprehensive project cost estimates including labor, materials, and overhead.
• Conduct site visits to collect measurements and assess conditions.
• Create cost breakdowns and forecasts using software or spreadsheets.
• Review bids to ensure competitive pricing and accuracy.
• Maintain cost-tracking databases and reports for stakeholders.
• Communicate cost requirements and updates to project teams.
• Stay informed on industry trends and installation methods.
• Leverage electrical experience to bring in qualified electricians when possible.
• Perform other duties as assigned.
