Job summary

Black Label Services, Inc. is seeking an Electrical Estimator to prepare accurate, competitive cost estimates for electrical construction projects.

You will analyze project specs, evaluate labor and material costs, and collaborate with project teams to align estimates with standards and client requirements. This role supports bidding, procurement, and project planning by researching materials, pricing, and market trends, while coordinating with engineers, vendors, and site operations to deliver

Qualifications

  • High school diploma or GED required; electrical schooling preferred.
  • 2-3 years of experience in the electrical field is preferred.
  • Experience reading blueprints and technical documents; knowledge of electrical codes is a plus.

Responsibilities

  • Develop detailed cost estimates for electrical projects, including labor, materials, equipment, and subcontracts.
  • Review specs, drawings, and bids to determine scope and requirements.
  • Prepare and submit competitive bids within timelines and budget expectations.
  • Research and source materials and equipment to ensure accurate pricing.
  • Collaborate with project managers, engineers, and vendors to reflect real project conditions.

Role And Responsibilities
  • Develop detailed cost estimates for electrical construction projects, including materials, labor, equipment, and subcontractor costs.
  • Review project specifications, drawings, and bid documents to determine scope and requirements.
  • Prepare and submit competitive bids and proposals in alignment with project timelines and budget expectations.
  • Research and source materials and equipment to ensure accurate pricing and cost efficiency.
  • Work closely with project managers, engineers, and vendors to ensure estimates reflect realistic project conditions.
  • Track market trends, labor rates, and material costs to ensure up-to-date pricing and cost projections.
  • Identify potential cost-saving opportunities and risk factors in project estimates.
  • Maintain and update historical cost data for future reference.
  • Attend pre-bid meetings and conduct site visits as needed to assess project conditions and requirements.
Requirements
  • Ability to use hand tools, power tools, and diagnostic/testing equipment.
  • Familiarity with electrical codes and safety protocols.
  • Competent in reading blueprints and technical documentation.
  • Effective communication (verbal and written) in English.
  • Strong attention to detail.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.

Education, Experience, Certifications

Education: High School Diploma/GED or higher level. Electrical schooling preferred.

Experience: 2-3 years of experience in the electrical field preferred.

Licenses/Certifications: Valid Driver's License and an Electrical Apprentice License (upon hire) for state of work.

Salary Description

$90,000 - $115,000 Annually
