Job summary

Fontanesi and Kann Company in Ferndale, MI, is seeking an Electrical Estimator to manage and estimate electrical scopes for HVAC-related projects and standalone jobs. This role blends project management with precise costing for commercial environments.

You will review drawings, solicit supplier quotes, coordinate with contractors, and ensure bidding accuracy while staying current with NEC requirements and labor pricing.

Qualifications

• 2+ years electrical estimating experience (commercial preferred).
• Understanding of NEC and commercial electrical installations.
• Strong Excel and/or estimating software skills.
• Journeyman Electrician experience a plus.

Responsibilities

• Project manage electric and electrical controls projects.
• Maintain a relationship with the general contractor and owners.
• Procurement of materials.
• Coordinate with subcontractors and maintain office project management documentation.
• Monthly billings.
• Review electrical drawings/specs and develop the project.
• Solicit pricing from vendors/subcontractors.
• Maintain current knowledge of codes and labor pricing.
• Complete bid document and proposal letterheads.
