Job summary

Granger Construction is seeking an Electrical Estimator to join our growing Preconstruction team in Detroit. You will develop detailed electrical cost estimates, review plans, and partner with project teams to deliver outstanding outcomes before construction starts.

You will evaluate risks, explore value engineering opportunities, and maintain thorough estimating records while staying current with NEC codes and industry trends.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, Construction Management, or related field (or Journeyman/Master Electrician with an associate degree).
• 2–5 years estimating, construction, electrical, or related experience.
• Knowledge of electrical systems: power distribution, lighting, safety & security, comms infrastructure.

Responsibilities

• Develop detailed cost estimates for electrical construction projects, including labor, materials, and equipment.
• Review drawings, specifications, and technical documents to understand project scope and requirements.
• Collaborate with project managers, engineers, and construction teams throughout preconstruction.
• Analyze subcontractor and supplier proposals for competitive pricing and alignment.
• Identify risks, value engineering opportunities, and cost-saving solutions.
• Maintain accurate estimating documentation and project records.
• Stay current on industry trends, codes, and regulations affecting electrical construction.

Granger Construction is looking for an Electrical Estimator to join our growing Preconstruction team. • Identify risks, value engineering opportunities, and cost-saving solutions.

• Stay current on industry trends, technologies, codes, and regulations affecting electrical construction.

What You Bring

• Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, Construction Management, or a related field, or Journeyman/Master Electrician with an associate degree.
• 2-5 years of estimating, construction, electrical, or related experience.
• Knowledge of electrical systems, including power distribution, lighting, safety and security, and communications infrastructure.
• Familiarity with the National Electrical Code.
• Experience with Microsoft Office, Bluebeam, and construction technology platforms. Estimating software experience is a plus.
• Strong organizational, communication, and problem-solving skills.
