Senior Electrical Estimator

About the Opportunity
Butterfly Staffing is seeking a skilled and detail-oriented Senior Electrical Estimator to join a leading electrical construction firm in the Clearwater area. This position reports directly to the Director of Estimating and plays a critical role in preparing accurate and competitive cost estimates for a wide range of electrical projects, including industrial builds and EVSE (Electric Vehicle Supply Equipment) installations.

Key Responsibilities

• Review and interpret construction drawings, specifications, and related documents to assess the scope of work.

• Perform detailed quantity take-offs and input data into estimating spreadsheets and software.

• Obtain material pricing and solicit subcontractor/vendor quotes as necessary.

• Collaborate with the bid team to ensure proposals are timely and complete.

• Identify and communicate inconsistencies or gaps in plans, specs, or pricing data.

• Prepare cost analysis factoring material, labor, equipment, subcontractor, and overhead costs.

• Maintain accurate and up-to-date pricing databases and vendor/subcontractor contacts.

• Attend department meetings and contribute to continuous process improvement.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required; further technical training a plus.

• Minimum of 5 years’ experience in electrical estimating or construction estimating.

• Strong knowledge of industrial and commercial electrical systems.

• Experience using Accubid or similar estimating software is highly preferred.

• Proficiency in reading architectural, civil, and electrical blueprints.

• Skilled in Microsoft Excel and Word.

• Experience with EVSE projects is a strong advantage.

Compensation

• Competitive salary commensurate with experience; estimated range: $85,000+
