Job summary

Zenith Systems is seeking an Assistant Project Estimator to join the Electrical team. You will support cost estimates for commercial electrical construction projects, working with clients, architects, engineers, vendors, and subcontractors to facilitate successful project execution.

The ideal candidate has 1–2 years of estimating experience in electrical construction and proficiency with Procore, Bluebeam, and Accubid.

Qualifications

• Experience in electrical construction estimating.
• Technical knowledge of electrical systems, materials, codes, regulations, and installation methods
• Ability to read and interpret blueprints and technical specifications
• Strong analytical, mathematical, and problem-solving skills
• Excellent organizational and time-management skills with strong attention to detail.
• Excellent interpersonal and customer service skills, with the ability to communicate effectively with a wide range of individuals.
• Ability to manage multiple projects and deadlines simultaneously

Responsibilities

• Develop a thorough understanding of project specifications and drawings across trades.
• Identify ambiguities and discrepancies in documents and raise questions before bid deadlines.
• Verify site conditions.
• Solicit materials quotations and prepare scopes of work for subcontractors.
• Perform material and labor takeoffs and measurements using Bluebeam or LiveCount.
• Assist with estimating new projects using Accubid.
• Review vendor/subcontractor bills and scopes of work for completeness.
• Ensure estimates are accurate and complete.
• Review shop drawings across trades for electrical coordination.
• Prepare proposal letters using standard Zenith template with exclusions.
• Enter and maintain bid information in Zenith Bid Tracker.
• Follow up with recipients of Zenith proposals.
• Assist with client relationship and business development.
• Other duties as assigned.
