Job summary

Milwaukee Tool seeks an Engineering Technician for the HIL & Electronics Automated Test team. You will instrument PCBAs, assemble test fixtures, and troubleshoot test systems supporting firmware development.

Responsibilities include assembling prototypes, repairing assemblies, operating lab equipment, collecting data, and preparing reports to drive lab improvements.

Qualifications

  • Associates degree in Engineering Technology or equivalent experience.
  • Experience with mechanical and electrical test principles and methods.
  • Proven ability to manage multiple tasks and meet deadlines.
  • Proficient with MS Office, especially Excel.

Responsibilities

  • Assemble test fixtures and prototype electronics for test & evaluation in low-volume environments.
  • Repair and rework assemblies to support prototype development and testing.
  • Operate soldering iron, microscope, and hot air pencil for component work.
  • Run tests using electrical and mechanical test equipment and document results.
  • Collect data and generate timely test reports with recommendations.
  • Maintain the laboratory and contribute to continuous improvement.
  • Coordinate with engineering teams to support firmware development.

The successful candidate will instrument PCBAs, assemble test fixtures, and troubleshoot test systems to support development and testing of our firmware.You’ll also be DISRUPTIVE through these duties and responsibilities:Assemble test fixtures and prototype electronics for test and evaluation in a low volume / high mix environment including PCBAs and wiring.Repair and rework assemblies as needed to support prototype development and testing.Operate electronics rework equipment: soldering iron, microscope, hot air pencil.Operate various lab equipment such as power supplies and meters.Perform tests using a variety of electrical and mechanical test equipment and techniques.Collect data through various equipment and software programs.Prepare thorough, timely, and accurate reports of test results and provide recommendations.Participate in the overall maintenance and continuous improvement of the laboratory.What TOOLS you’ll bring with you:Associates degree in Engineering Technology or in lieu of a degree, High School diploma accompanied by 2+ years of experience.Experience with mechanical & electrical principles, test equipment, product life/performance test procedures and methods.Proven ability to successfully manage multiple tasks and consistently deliver to a deadline.Computer skills needed to navigate MS Office products, especially Excel.Capability to lift and manipulate 30lbs.Other TOOLS we prefer you to have:Mechanical mindset and aptitude.We provide these great perks and benefits:Robust health, dental and vision insurance plans.Generous 401 (K) savings plan.Education assistance.On-site wellness, fitness center, food, and coffee service.And many more, check out our benefits site HERE .Milwaukee Tool is an equal opportunity employer.
