Job summary

Mission Valley Power is seeking a qualified Engineering Supervisor with a PE license or the ability to obtain it within one year. The role requires at least four years of engineering experience on utility power lines and two years of supervising personnel. Substation design and CAD proficiency are preferred, along with strong customer communication.

Candidates must meet licensing, drug-testing, and residency requirements within MVP service territory. Tribal preference applies.

Qualifications

• Must have PE licensure or ability to obtain within 1 year by exam or comity.
• Four years of engineering experience on utility power lines with two years supervising or directing personnel.
• Five years of other engineering experience with two years supervising or directing personnel.
• Experience in substation design and CADD applications.
• Ability to work directly with customers and communicate effectively.
• Knowledge of NEC, NESC, Montana Electric/Inspection Code, and REA standards preferred.
• Valid state driver’s license; pre-hire drug test; random testing.
• Must live within Mission Valley Power service territory; Tribal preference applies.

Responsibilities

• Supervise and direct engineering staff on distribution, transmission, and substation projects.
• Perform engineering tasks for utility power lines and related facilities.
• Coordinate with customers and tribal partners; ensure clear communication.
• Ensure compliance with NEC, NESC, and REA construction standards.
• Utilize CAD and engineering software to develop designs and drawings.
