Job summary

CDM Smith is seeking an engineer to contribute to electrical system design across power, generation, and renewable energy projects. You will work on basic design portions, perform studies, and assist in selecting components while ensuring policy compliance.

The role involves site reviews, design updates, and contributing to technical documentation and conference materials. Some travel may be required based on project needs.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree required; 0 years experience; travel may be required.
• Domestic and/or international travel may be required.
• Travel frequency depends on duties and workload.

Responsibilities

• Creates portions of basic designs of electric system plans, power system, protection and generation models, facility power systems, sustainability/renewable energy systems, and other similar electrical systems.
• Contributes to studies of power systems and calculations for electrical systems, lighting simulations, layouts, communications, fire alarm, security, and other similar calculations of basic complexity to meet client project requirements.
• Assists with the selection and specification of electrical components including motor control centers, switchgears, transformers, etc.
• Ensures that firm policies and practices are followed on all designs.
• Performs site reviews and studies, as needed, to ensure designs are aligned with location specifications.
• Updates design requirements as necessary.
• Adds to firm's TKM by contributing to technical design documentation of new or special case designs, studies, etc.
• Assists to create presentation material for conferences.
• Performs other duties as required.
