WSP is seeking an engineering intern in Billings, MT to contribute to a range of tasks from early design and research to documentation and cost estimates. You will gain exposure to renewable energy projects and consulting engineering practices as you participate in a 12‑week summer program starting May 17, 2027.

The role emphasizes learning, collaboration, and ethical decision‑making while you develop foundational electrical engineering skills for future career growth.

Qualifikationen

• Enrolled in accredited EE undergrad with Aug 2027 or later.
• Eligible to work in the United States at internship start.
• Interest in Consulting Engineering or Renewable Energy fields.
• Strong communication and writing skills.
• Willing to learn basic design calculations and documentation.
• Familiar with design software is a plus (MATHCAD/SOLIDWORKS/AUTOCAD/Excel).

Your Role

Here’s what you will be doing:

• Support various engineering tasks to develop technical, social, and ethical skills.
• Learn basic principles of Electrical Engineering.
• Assist with project research, field work, and preliminary design calculations and analysis.
• Support preparation of final design plans, special provisions, and cost estimates.
• Assist in collecting and maintaining project documentation.
• Complete training on assigned tasks.
• Exercise responsible and ethical decision‑making regarding company funds, resources, and conduct, adhering to WSP’s Code of Conduct and related policies.
• Perform additional responsibilities as required by business needs.

About You

The company is looking for:

• Individuals actively enrolled in an accredited Electrical Engineering or related Undergraduate program with an anticipated graduation date of August 2027 or later.
• Applicants who are 18 years or older.
• Demonstrated interest in Consulting Engineering, Renewable Energy, or related fields with a strong desire to advance skills related to WSP’s work and projects.
• Competent interpersonal and communication skills for effective interaction with engineering and non‑engineering audiences.
• Ability to take direction from leadership, mentors, and managers to execute projects.
• Basic proficiency in technical writing, office automation, software, spreadsheets, technology, and tools.
• Proven track record of upholding workplace safety and compliance with WSP’s health, safety, drug/alcohol, and harassment policies.
• Authorization to work in the United States at the start of the internship.
• Preferred qualifications include completion of junior‑level courses in power system analysis/protection or structural analysis, attention to detail, time management, prior internship experience, FE/EIT exam progress, and familiarity with design or engineering software such as MATHCAD, SOLIDWORKS, AUTOCAD, and Microsoft Excel.

Compensation & Benefits

• Hourly pay range: $23.03 - $29.96 depending on education, experience, skills, and location.

Training & Development
