IMEG is hiring an Electrical Engineering New Graduate in Idaho Falls, ID to work closely with a team of experienced engineers and consultants to provide engineering solutions and advice that support positive client outcomes. This entry-level role offers hands‑on design, analysis, and project execution experience, with mentorship, training, and opportunities to grow your expertise from day one.

In this role, you will support the design and implementation oversight of electrical systems in buildings while collaborating with cross-functional teams to meet project goals, client expectations, and project budget requirements. You will also gain exposure to hospitality-focused MEP work and integrated building systems, advancing high‑performance, energy‑efficient design aligned with MEP2050 and AIA2030.

What You'll Do
  • Assist with the design and analysis of electrical systems, using engineering software and tools to create detailed designs, specifications, and calculations according to code requirements and IMEG standards.
  • Support consulting project execution as part of a project team, including project planning and scheduling tasks to help meet deadlines and objectives.
  • Interact with clients to understand project needs, gather requirements, and communicate technical information effectively while building professional relationships.
  • Document design decisions and client instructions, and monitor project design progress.
  • Analyze low to medium complexity engineering tasks and collaborate with senior engineers and consultants to develop practical and efficient solutions.
  • Participate in IMEG quality control processes to help ensure designs and solutions meet IMEG quality standards, industry standards, and client requirements.
  • Stay current on industry trends, emerging technologies, and best practices in electrical engineering, and contribute to research, development, and innovation efforts.
  • Prioritize safety in all aspects of engineering work by identifying and helping mitigate potential safety risks associated with electrical systems.
  • Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams, including other engineers, architects, and project managers, to deliver integrated solutions that meet project goals.
  • Work within the project's monetary budget while supporting positive client outcomes.
What You'll Bring
Required Education
  • Bachelor of Science (BS) Degree in Electrical Engineering, or equivalent required
Required Skills/Abilities
  • Knowledge of design techniques, tools, and concepts involved in the production of technical plans and specifications
  • Strong technical and analytical skills including knowledge of principles relating to circuit theory, electromagnetism, power systems, and electronics as they relate to electrical systems design for buildings
  • Knowledge of industry standard engineering software and tools, including lighting photometric calculation software such as AGI, Elum Tools, Visual Lighting, or other; energy compliance software such as ComCheck; and familiar use of Adobe or Bluebeam Revu
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills; Ability to clearly communicate in both oral and written communication to individuals or groups
  • Ability to work collaboratively in a team environment
  • Attention to detail and problem‑solving skills
  • Eagerness to learn and adapt to new challenges
  • Basic knowledge in the use of Building Information Modeling (Building Information Model) software
  • Proficient with MS Office Suite including but not limited to Word, Excel, and Outlook
  • Ability to travel up to 5% with occasional overnight stays
Preferred
  • Prior internship experience in the building design consulting industry preferred
  • Engineering in Training (EIT) License preferred
