Job summary

The Aerospace Corporation in El Segundo, CA is seeking an Electrical Engineering Manager for the Sensors and Systems group within xLab. You will lead a team of engineers, mentor staff, and drive rapid prototype activities from concept to integration for space systems.

Ideal candidates have 8+ years of space‑related engineering and 2+ years of people leadership, plus the ability to obtain a US security clearance. On‑site work at our El Segundo facility is required.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree from an accredited program in Electrical Engineering or related STEM discipline.
• 8+ years of experience in rapid prototype and first‑of‑a‑kind concept development for space applications.
• 2+ years of demonstrated leadership experience, including supervising, mentoring, or managing technical staff.
• Proven ability to provide constructive feedback, conduct performance evaluations, and guide career development for engineering professionals.
• Ability to obtain and maintain a security clearance; U.S. citizenship is required.

Responsibilities

• Lead, mentor, and develop a team of engineers and technical staff with regular feedback and career guidance.
• Build technical depth through targeted training, knowledge sharing, and hands‑on mentoring in electrical engineering.
• Contribute to department strategy and translate goals into actionable objectives.
• Support standardization and unification of engineering processes across the organization.
• Provide technical leadership for fast‑paced prototype design from concept through test and integration.
• Collaborate with cross‑functional teams to identify customer needs and deliver high‑impact projects on schedule.
