Job summary

EBR Systems is seeking a Senior Manager of Electrical Engineering in the Silicon Valley area. The role leads the EE team, aligning electrical designs with firmware and software to deliver scalable, integrated products while guiding architecture for current and future generations.

You will collaborate with firmware, software, mechanical, program management, product support, and quality/regulatory teams to balance today’s delivery with future technical foundations.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, or a related technical field.
• Minimum of 8 years of experience in electrical or firmware engineering.
• Minimum of 3 years of experience directly managing engineering teams.
• Experience defining and governing system architecture in complex embedded hardware–software products.
• Experience working in regulated product development environments (medical device experience preferred).

Responsibilities

• Provide leadership for electrical engineering (EE) team, including junior engineers and senior technical leaders.
• Scale EE capability through delegation, architectural empowerment, and modern engineering practices.
• Maintain technical engagement to inform leadership decisions without becoming a bottleneck to execution.
• Identify and prioritize technical debt in EE domain.
• Align EE DDF/DHF with lean QMSR expectations under ISO13485.
• Partner with systems and firmware development to define system partitioning and interface boundaries.
• Resolve cross-domain technical trade-offs in collaboration with firmware, software, and mechanical engineering.
• Manage projects to ensure architectural risks and trade-offs are visible in program plans and by key cross-functional stakeholders.
• Engage with Sustaining Engineering to ensure field learnings inform future electrical architecture.
• Support Sr. Directors in R&D in architectural resolution when system-level decisions impact product strategy.
• Other duties as assigned.
