Job summary

Los Alamos County is seeking an Electrical Engineering Manager (Exempt) in the Utilities/Electric Distribution department. Under general supervision, you will plan, design, and implement improvements to the electric distribution system to optimize reliability, and oversee fault studies and load forecasts.

The role requires supervisory experience and NM licensing readiness. A sign-on recruitment incentive of $15,000 plus milestone payments is offered.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s Degree in Electrical Engineering.
• PE license or eligibility for NM registration within 6 months.
• NM Class D driver’s license (or ability to obtain within 30 days).

Responsibilities

• Plan, design and implement improvements to the electric distribution system to optimize reliability.
• Oversee fault studies, load forecasts and system coordination.
• Coordinate with operations personnel to improve system performance and safety.
• Maintain confidentiality of privileged information.

Education
