Job summary

PG&E's Applied Technology Services (ATS) Engineering team seeks a Principal Electrical Engineer to lead technical efforts across arc flash, grounding safety programs, high voltage/current analysis, and incident investigations. You will mentor engineers and analysts, shape best practices, and contribute to project bids while ensuring safety and quality standards.

The role requires travel, typically 5%–10%, and the selected candidate must live within PG&E's service territory.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Engineering (mechanical, civil or electrical)
• 10 years related experience

Responsibilities

• Make independent decisions on complex issues, integrating information from multiple sources.
• Leads teams in scoping, scheduling, and budgeting.
• Maintains strong client relationships by understanding expectations and concerns.
• Contributes to industry publications and supports programs related to grounding, arc flash, substation design, live line work, and compliance.
