Job summary

Shape Corp is seeking an Electrical Engineering Manager to support manufacturing through machine design and process improvements. You will lead a team, prioritize projects, and ensure compliance with relevant codes and standards in automotive environments.

You will design and implement PLC/Operator interfaces, develop electrical schematics, and apply automation technology to enhance safety, efficiency, and throughput.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering or related field.
• 2-D AutoCAD experience.
• 3–5 years in automotive-related field.
• Proficient in Fanuc and Motoman robotics controls.
• Experience designing, programming and troubleshooting robotic machinery.
• Previous management experience with electrical engineers.
• Experience with Microsoft Office applications.

Responsibilities

• Support maintenance and manufacturing during downtimes, startups and launches.
• Provide 24/7 on-call support for manufacturing processes.
• Evaluate machinery controls and implement process improvements.
• Ensure designs comply with NEC, OSHA, ANSI, NFPA, IEC, RIA, NEMA codes.
• Facilitate information exchange between engineering and manufacturing.
• Communicate engineering requirements to internal customers and vendors.
• Assist welding processes to improve weld quality and efficiency.
• Design and implement PLC/Operator interface programs (GE-Fanuc, Allen-Bradley).
• Design and integrate controls from complete systems to improvements.
• Create electrical schematics for 480V 3-Phase and safety systems.
• Apply automation devices (VFDs, sensors, servos, I/O, vision) to controls.
• Integrate and program vision inspection systems.
• Implement data collection for machine status reporting.
• Staff management: evaluate, mentor and develop associates.
• Schedule and manage projects to meet production demands.
• Coordinate and prioritize projects within Electrical Engineering.
• Identify backups to manage key tasks when absent.
• Additional duties as directed by leader.
