Job summary

Xcel Energy seeks candidates for a paid internship in the Transmission Planning Organization. The program offers hands-on engineering experience, senior leadership exposure, and collaboration with internal stakeholders.

Typical duties include building transmission planning models, helping advance a carbon-free future, and working with internal teams. Must be a current student pursuing an engineering degree with hybrid in-person work.

Qualifications

• Currently enrolled in an ABET-accredited engineering program.
• Pursuing an Engineering degree with electrical emphasis preferred.
• Able to work full-time in summer and part-time during the school year.
• Hybrid work policy with in-person commuting to the designated location.

Responsibilities

• Help develop a carbon-free future.
• Develop transmission planning models.
• Interact with internal stakeholders on transmission projects.
• Apply critical thinking to solve transmission problems.
