Job summary

Burns & McDonnell is seeking an Engineering Intern in Southfield, MI. You will support the Transmission & Distribution group with design tasks, data entry, and documentation while assisting lead engineers on varied project duties.

You will engage in continuous improvement, research solutions, and present recommendations. Strong communication, problem solving, and teamwork are essential for success in this role.

Qualifications

• Pursuit of bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering or related field.
• ABET accreditation strongly preferred.
• Currently enrolled, in good standing, in a related post-secondary program.
• Minimum 3.0 GPA strongly preferred.
• Prior internship or related consulting experience preferred.
• Actively involved in campus, community or volunteer activities or organizations.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
• Strong problem solving and analytical skills.
• Candidates must be legally authorized to work in the United States without sponsorship.

Responsibilities

• Assist with filing, scanning, data entry, and documentation.
• Assist with responses to general questions and PowerPoint presentations.
• Participate in continuous improvement by collecting and analyzing data.
• Present solutions to project concerns.
• Research solutions to project problems and recommend approaches.
• Assist with ad hoc projects as assigned by managers.
• Comply with policies and standards.
